Bisque-fired ceramic with a beeswax and graphite patina.
The surface was created by layering slip, incised marks, burlap imprints, and terra sigillata. Once bisqued it was painted with the melted graphite-wax mixture and the excess was buffed and polished away. The form is based on 1800’s tin washtubs.
